We spent time mixing older and younger children up  so they could share books.

Picture books aren't just for younger children. Here are a selection of picture books for Reception, KS1 and KS2 children that are a mixture of absolute classic and some fantastic new releases. It included some great questions as well to get your child involved in a discussion around the book.

This is a fantastic website that helps you find books that your child will enjoy. It showcases new books and recommends a range of texts including fiction, non-fiction and poetry. You can download extracts of lots of the texts so you can have a read before you buy it or borrow it from the library to see if you think they would enjoy it. Older children might like to have a look at the website themselves to help open up the range of authors they enjoy.

The best thing about this website is that it has a monthly newsletter which you can sign up for that always has excellent reads on. We love getting the newsletter for new book ideas.

Books all children should read before they grow up... as recommended by Michael Morpurgo (and some of our favourites are on the list too!)

These books are recommended for Reception and KS1 children.
