On the 20th of January, author of the amazing Bradley Baker series, David Lawrence Jones, travelled to Exminster School! He recounted the fantastic story of how he became a writer and how the ideas of the classic Bradley Baker books originated!
He explained his four fabulous novels in great detail and asked the children to demonstrate some of the scenes from the books. The favoured character was General Eidar, a gruff freytorian.
Then, on the 21st, he returned to the school to hold a book signing event! The integrating year 6 boys asked numerous questions relating to the books to which David Lawrence Jones answered willingly.
The whole of ks2 were enthusiastic about the event and were obviously inspired because of the experience. A huge number have bought the books and we also have copies for our school library.
Jack stated “I loved how he was able to recreate the scenes from the book” and star-struck Evie quoted “He was really funny. It was so exciting having a real life author in the school.”
