I live nearby in Alphington and during the working week I am one of the Partners of and Head of Commercial Property at WBW Solicitors in Exeter.
My interest in being a Governor is to understand the competing demands of the school at a strategic level and to be involved with the improvement of the school. I have a sister who is a primary school teacher in Bedfordshire and my wife Lisa is a manager of the PGCE course at Exeter University so I also have an interest in developing my knowledge of education and teaching.
I volunteer for St John Ambulance, attend regular training and provide first aid at events, am part of the ambulance crew and am currently the District Tactical Commander.
I enjoy sport and play Korfball in Exeter, which I was a founder member of the korfball club in 2003.
My wife and I also volunteer for Guide Dogs, boarding trainee guide dogs whilst they undertake their advanced training locally.
I look forward to continuing with the improvements of the school lead by Mrs Whalley and the Senior Leadership Team and the excellent staff at the school and to working with my fellow governors in our part to ensuring the continual improvement of our school.
